LGBT activist Elizabeth Pax comes out as queer
05-01-10

Elizabeth Pax is a multi-national LGBT activist who has supported Join the Impact, Queer LiberAction and other Dallas-based LGBT community groups. She has given DFW Bi Net permission to cross-post her thoughts about her recent entry into a relationship with a man:

"He and I dated a long time ago and we've been friends ever since. I've always really admired and adored him but I was put off by the whole 'he's a guy' thing.

"Lately I've been doing a lot of thinking about myself and life and analyzing myself and why I think certain things and dealing with my issues. I was scared of men because of how I perceived them. Things happened to me over the last year that changed my perceptions about things. I believe that people and sexuality are fluid, ever changing and evolving. We should always be open to find bliss, where ever it may come from. SO... I realized that I fancy him and so I told him and he fancies me, too. So... now we are together. :) I wish you could have met him. He's amazing and sweet and smart and adorable. :)

"I guess I realized that I'm not actually a lesbian, I'm queer. I had always identified as a Kinsey 5 (0 being only attracted to opposite sex, 6 people only attracted to same sex) and now I am a 4. People grow and change. We shouldn't be hung up on our labels, esp if they stop us from finding happiness."

Thank you, Liz!
